Dwayne Johnson, from former wrestler to president?
In an imaginary future, Arnold Schwarzenegger would be president of the United States. This is what he had imagined Demolition Man (1993) when the actor was with Sylvester Stallone (main role in Demolition Man) one of the biggest stars of action cinema. Thirty years later, if there’s one star who can come close to Scharzy’s colossus physique, it’s it Dwayne Johnson. The former wrestler has shown that he is also comfortable in action films, despite being very good at comedy.

The two actors therefore have many points in common. Except if Arnold Schwarzenegger had done well a career in politics As governor, and recently saying he would make a good president, Dwayne Johnson has stayed away from this area. However, “The Rock” would be considered a very credible candidate if he ever campaigned.
“I would be a real competitor“
On Trevor Noah’s podcast “And now?” (through Internal) Dwayne Johnson revealed that he was addressed in the past by various political parties. The actor was reacting to the fact that in 2021 a poll indicated that 46% of Americans would be ready to support him for a presidential campaign.
It was an interesting survey and really moved me. I was stunned and honored to learn this. But I’ll tell you an anecdote: at the end of 2022 I received a visit from the parties who asked me if I would run and if I could run.
This approach of American political parties came as a real surprise to Dwayne Johnson. And even more so what their own polls announced: that the actor could really be one a serious competitor.
They proposed this survey, as well as their extensive research which showed that if I ever went down this path, (I) would be a real contender. It was surreal because that was never my goal.
In fact, as previously mentioned, Dwayne Johnson has never been in politics and, according to his words, the situation is not destined to change. The actor adding that this was not his goal and “that there are many things in politics (that he) hates“. However, in 2017, he estimated between Variety that a presidential run was a “realistic consideration” for the 2024 election, before finally rejecting the idea last year CBS Morning.
