Makeup created by artist Barrie Gower took six to seven hours to complete
THE Netflix posted a video on Instagram showing the villain’s transformation process vecna behind the scenes of the fourth season of Stranger Things. The video is a time-lapse showing the actor Jamie Campbell Bower with several layers of prostheses on the face and body. The entire process took six to seven hours to complete.
Who gave life to the character was the makeup artist Barrie Gowerresponsible for creating the King of the Night in game of Thrones. In the week of the premiere of the fourth season of Stranger Thingsthe artist published images of the makeup test of the villain of the series, in the caption Gower says: “An incredible actor whose great humor and toughness made this makeup possible” about bower.

In other images released by the makeup artist, it is possible to see the details involved in the villain’s design, such as the fleshy veins on the skin of vecna. The series did not use CGI, computer-generated images for the character’s scenes, as is used, for example, in Thanos in the saga of Avengers.

Gower won three Emmys for work in game of Thrones and works in House of the Dragonspin-off of the saga of Ice and FireBesides The Last of Us; both productions are from HBO.
The first part of the fourth season of Stranger Things debuted in May on Netflix and has seven episodes, the Volume 2 premieres on July 1, 2022 with two episodes of extended duration.
