To promote Minions 2, Universal Pictures produced a parody of The Office with the characters from the film.
Steve Carrell is one of the voice actors of Minions 2: Origin of Gru (2022) and Universal Pictures celebrated the actor’s presence in the cast with a special tribute to one of the most remarkable works of his career.
In a parody released on YouTube this Wednesday, the 22nd, the minions become employees of Dunder Mifflin, a famous The Office (2005). Instead of Michael Scott, Gru is the new head of the office who accompanies the minions reenacting iconic scenes from the sitcom.
The parody alludes to the opening of the series and shows remarkable moments of the program such as the mask of Hannibal in Dwightgelatin with a stapler, the pan that falls to the floor, among others.
At the end, the video announces the premiere date of minions 2which hits Brazilian theaters on June 30, 2022. The story is a prequel to My favorite evil (2010) and shows how the small beings knew Gru as a child, in 1970, before becoming a major villain.
