Dyson Airwrap multi-styler setup

Installing a Dyson Airwrap would not be easy. After washing my hair, towel-drying it, and dousing it with heat protection (I used Ceremonia Guava Rescue Spray, $18 at Credo Beauty and Net-A-Porter), I applied Coanda Calming Blow Dryer, putting it on on high and high heat. Speed up and dry your hair until it is about 80% dry.

One big difference I noticed was the pre-engineered dryer. The one that followed the first generation Airwrap looked like a smaller version of the Dyson Supersonic, while the new one is flatter and has two features. Simply switch the accessory from the drying function to the straightening function, which will allow you to correct breakages.

Overall design of the Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler

It’s clear from the start that Dyson made a smart move by upgrading to Airwrap. In addition to the convenient pre-styling dryer, the newly upgraded barrels (1.2 and 1.6 inch long attachments used for curling and shaping) can be easily changed clockwise and counterclockwise instead of the old style. , which required a complete change. Adjust the barrel.

Coanda airflow technology has also been significantly improved. According to Dyson, “the koanda phenomenon occurs when air moving at the correct speed and pressure naturally follows the surrounding surface, dragging the surrounding air and hair with it.” (At a recent media launch and style presentation event, Ambassador Matthew Collins illustrated the effect of pouring a glass of water at an angle and showing how the liquid flows down the side of the glass instead of straight to the floor.) I found it. . That the air coming out of the pictured device is stronger than the previous Airwrap, allowing waves and curls to flow faster, but without damaging the hair.

It’s also fun to see the hair follicles magnetically fold into the barrels. And unlike regular bandages, you don’t have to worry about accidentally burning your fingers or other body parts. (I’m still traumatized by a childhood incident that happened when I tangled my hair while playing the piano, which was a tragic attempt at multitasking.)

The tool is available in three colors: Nickel/Copper, Prussian Blue/Copper and Copper/Nickel.

Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler Features

As mentioned, one of the biggest and most important upgrades to the new Dyson Airwap is the barrels you don’t have to unplug if you want to curl your hair the other way. I found it a relief and a time saver. Smooth mode is also important. After curling my hair, I was able to quickly turn on the dryer to straighten out my wayward ways. It not only straightened my hair but gave it volume, making it almost like a wig (which I love). This is something I usually can’t do with my regular curling iron because the top of my hair tends to look flat.

I also switched to a smaller bandage to add dimension to parts of the face frames. There are also different types of straightening and volumizing brushes, so you can have a spectacular shine at home and a set specifically for those with long hair, short hair and curly/frizzy hair.

How easy is it to use the Dyson Airwrap Multi-Styler?

The Dyson Airwrap’s learning curve really is there – if you’ve never used the older version, let the Coanda’s airflow do its thing and stick your hair to the barrel, it takes some getting used to. However, when you do, it’s easy. As my hair is much longer than normal (lower back) I had a hard time curling it at first but got used to it quickly.

Is it worth buying a Dyson Airwrap?

This is a serious investment, so occasional users of hot tools who style their hair just for special occasions may miss out. But if you are a person who does regular styling at home, this is the Holy Grail hair tool – I consider it to be the best all-in-one patch on the market. It does everything you need to do from blow-drying, straightening and curling, saving you money and space in your bathroom (or wherever you do your hair) in the long run.
