Broadway Musical “Back to the Future” Set in 2023

Broadway returns to the future in 2023 with a theatrical adaptation of a cult film from the 80s.

On Wednesday, back to the future The franchise’s official Twitter has released a trailer for the show, which is set to premiere next year. “Sync your watches,” the video begins, before the camera captures two actors, Marty McFaul and Emmett “Doc” Brown, traveling through time in the Delorean.

The ad provides a link to sign up for first-time tickets. Other details about the show are not available at this time, including which Broadway theater is hosting the musical or who its producers, actors, creative and production team will be.

The musical’s world premiere took place at the Manchester Opera House in March 2020, before moving to the Adelph Theater in the West End in September 2020. March McLaughlin is played by Ollie Dobson and Roger Bart is played by Emmett Brown, who appear in the Broadway teaser. With original music by Alan Sylvester and Glenn Ballard, and a book adapted by Bob Gail, based on his original screenplay, directed by Robert Zemeck, the West End production won the Olivier Award for Best New Musical.

In the past, March breaks deadlines, keeps his parents from falling in love, and must find a way to bring them back to protect his existence and return to the future. The film also stars Leah Thompson and Crispin Glover among its cast.

The film grossed over $222 million at the worldwide box office and received two sequels, 1989. Back to the future: Part II and the 1990s Back to the Future: Part III. The three films together have grossed over $965 million worldwide.
