From the wide vistas of the desert Dune In Gotham’s gloomy sky bat Man, Hollywood’s top physical production professionals are faced with an enormous task: exploring Earth to understand the view of the set on screen. After a two-year hiatus, the International Association of Film Directors, a group of more than 300 commissioners from six continents, will host AFCI on Sunday, June 27-30, at the Sofitel Los Angeles in Beverly Hills. AFCI President Eva Hontaner says it is “a unique and exclusive annual event for film commissioning professionals that takes place around the world.” Activities include networking, Q&A with a supervised group of executives, and an optional day tour of key manufacturing facilities, hosted by Power Branch on June 29 (co-hosted the hollywood reporter).
