“The dismissal of my former colleague had nothing to do with the attempt to hire my friend. Netflix and the producers did a complete casting job. I didn’t recommend my friend for the job. They ended up hiring him because he was the best person for the job. Am I happy because he got it? Yes, I am. He’s going to be amazing on the show. But I didn’t get rid of one person to hire him.”
According to France, the allegation began on a gossip blog. “The point is, that’s not how it all happened,” Tan clarified.
Bobby Berk’s dismissal and tension in Queer Eye
Bobby Berk announced his resignation from Queer Eye at the end of 2023, after eight seasons. The designer and businessman even confirmed some conflicts behind the scenes, including with France, but made it clear that these were personal issues, and not linked to the program’s daily life.

Last week, the Rolling Stone published a report explaining the tensions behind the scenes of the reality show. According to sources heard by the magazine, the list of members of the Fab Five – the five experts responsible for transforming the lives of the program’s participants – would have started to harm the recording routine. The investigation also pointed to the specific behavior of Jonathan Van Nesswhich would have episodes of moral harassment against members of the production.
