A western for the director of Mid summer
In three feature films, the young director Ari Aster has established himself as a master of horror cinema and, more generally, as a leading figure of American arthouse cinema. There have been Inheritance in 2018, then the following year the shock Mid summer – in which Florence Pugh reveals herself to the general public – and recently Beau is scareda 3-hour horror-comic summit hosted by Joaquin Phoenix.

Beau is scared was a failure at the box office, but Ari Aster’s CV is nevertheless brilliant and his cinema very attractive, so much so that his fourth feature film, entitled Eddingtontherefore has a casting that would almost make Wes Anderson green with envy.
A more classic plot and real casting
In Eddington, Ari Aster will revisit the genre of western, Nowadays. Few plot details have been given, but we still know that it will follow a couple who find refuge in the small New Mexico town of Eddington after running out of gas. As night falls, after being welcomed, everything changes…
To embody the characters of this new story, whose narrative appears a priori more classic than that of Beau is scaredAri Aster therefore has a cast that includes Joaquin Phoenix, Emma Stone, Pedro Pascal and Austin Butler, Luke Grimes and Deirdre O’Connell, Micheal Ward and the too rare Clifton Collins Jr..
In the mail Eddingtonwe also note that the cinematography of the film is handled by the Franco-Iranian Darius Khondji, collaborator of James Gray and Bong Joon-ho among others.
Eddington has started filming and is expected in cinemas in 2025probably after a first presentation at a prestigious festival.
