Quentin Dupieux to open the celebrations
After Smoking makes you coughpresented in a “midnight screening” at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival, Quentin Dupieux returns to the Croisette with his new film The second act. And his presentation will be done with great fanfare, since it is this comedy, the director’s thirteenth feature film, which the 2024 edition will open of the prestigious festival May 14th.

They join the long list of stars who have already toured with him, from Alain Chabat to Adèle Exarchopoulos, via Blanche Gardin, Éric Judor, Benoît Poelvoorde, Anaïs Demoustier, Léa Drucker and even Jean Dujardin.

Florence wants to introduce David, the man she is madly in love with, to her father Guillaume. But David is not attracted to Florence and wants to get rid of her by throwing her into the arms of her friend Willy. The four characters then find themselves in a restaurant in the middle of nowhere.
