Following the publication of The wages of fear by Julien Leclercq, Netflix has just added to its catalog Lucadark thriller from the same director released in 2018. Julien Leclercq, a fan but protective
Julien Leclercq, with a more intimate and personal approach than his previous films, recalls the casting Luca Sami Bouajila, protagonist of the film and the series Thieves, as well as Kaaris making a brief appearance. The casting of Jean-Claude Van Damme is noteworthy. Even though Julien Leclercq had already toured with big names like Albert Dupontel (Chrysalis), Gilles Lellouche or Tahar Rahim (Gibraltar), is another challenge when you have to drive an icon of global cinema. About its main actor in Lucalegend of action cinema, the director told us:
(I’m a fan) like everyone else. But I didn’t approach him as a fan. Otherwise I think I would have died… I told him anyway. It’s not about ego, it’s about protection. Like a mother, with her film, to tell it: “Listen, for me the star is my film. Come to my house and you will feel good with me. Come, trust me”. And he said, “Okay, okay.”
He’s a big star, an icon, but on set, when you cook like that, in privacy… He’s an exceptional actor.
