Goonies: Producer Reveals Plot for Series Based on Iconic Film

According to Gail Berman, Disney+’s Our Time has Goonies as one of the bases

“This is a partnership between me, Amblin Entertainment and Lauren Shuler Donner. when i was in paramountthere were these kids making this movie about Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981), a scene-by-scene remake,” said Berman. There was a problem at the time, and the studio was very upset about it. It was an amazing idea, and it’s always stuck in my head – how can you take an idea like that and turn it into a TV series?”

“We needed a great writer and great partners, so we brought the idea to the amblin and these guys loved it,” the producer continued. “Sarah Watson is our creator. The series is a story of a town and a family along the lines of Friday Night Lightsand within that they tell the story of a remake of goonies.”
