Another hard blow for Lama
During San Diego Comic-Con in 2019, Marvel announced the beginning of a movie Lama. But, five years later, the feature film has still not seen the light of day. The fault of a development marked by a series of hard blows.
While Bassam Tariq was initially supposed to direct Lama, the director left the ship in September 2022. At the time, filming was supposed to start just a few months later, but was then postponed. Since then, strikes that have rocked Hollywood have further delayed the film’s production. Yann Demange then signed to replace Bassam Tariq. But the French recently abandoned this project. Faced with a series of bad news, Wesley Snipes recently teased from the Marvel movie.

Wesley Snipes is best known for playing Blade in three different films. And while the new feature film on the character created by Marv Wolfman and Gene Colan suffers a new disillusionment with the farewell of Yann Demange, the actor had fun with the situation through his account :

Wesley Snipes isn’t the first to tease the new development Lama. Last year Stephen Dorff had already done so during an interview for The daily beast. The interpreter of Deacon Frost in the first film of the trilogy carried out by Wesley Snipes had ensured that the director of the future film would be laughed at whatever he did, because he could not do better than the first film Lama.
Will the film be made?
A question now arises: will Marvel be able to overcome the new obstacle of Yann Demange’s departure to finally offer a new Lama ? Given the feature’s chaotic production, there’s reason to be pessimistic. This could only remain a project discussed for a long time before being abandoned.
