Sony Pictures today released the first trailer for The Female Kingmovie with Viola Davis in the role of Nasisca, general of the all-female military unit of the kingdom of Dahomey, one of Africa’s most powerful states between the 18th and 19th centuries in an epic story inspired by real events. The film, under the direction of Gina Prince-Bythewood with Viola Davis, Thuso Mbedu, Lashana Lynch, Sheila Atim, Hero Fiennes Tiffin and John Boyega. The Female King will only be available in theaters in the fall, produced by Sony Pictures and distributed by Warner Bros. Entertainment Italy.
