Gerard Butler very angry Criminal Squad 2
A bit like Liam Neeson, Gerard Butler has specialized in recent years in action films closer to the B series, with more or less success. There was something good, as with the saga The fall of… (three films in 2013, 2016 and 2019), the disaster film Greenland (2020) or the muscular thriller May Day (2023). To this we can add Criminal Squad (2018)quite effective in its genre and well led by a violent Gerard Butler, charged with tracking down a group of thieves. If in this film the actor played a police officer with more than limited methods, seven years later his character will change sides.
After the success of the first work (80 million dollars in turnover worldwide), the sequel, Criminal Team: Pantherwill finally see the light. It is in 2025 that we will be able to find Nick O’Brien, visibly tired of being a tracker. This is what we discover in the trailer of the film (video on the first page of the article). While he manages to find Donnie (O’Shea Jackson Jr), who posed as a simple driver but in reality was the mastermind of the gang since the first opus, Nick will not stop him, but will join him. Without leaving him much choice, Nick will then participate in the robbery led by Donnie. Their objective will be to rob the World Diamond Centerwhere 50 billion diamonds pass through every year. A very hard blow therefore, and the slightest mistake risks being fatal.
In 2025 at the cinema
Since this time the cop and the gangster will be on the same side, it remains to be seen who will oppose them. For now the trailer does not reveal much but focuses on the action. Director Christian Gudegast (already present in the first film) should offer very vigorous passages. Like that scene in a tunnel where Gerard Butler shoots with a machine gun while O’Shea Jackson Jr. drives. This is promising for this one. Criminal Squad 2which will be available in theaters January 22, 2025.
