In an interview with EntertainmentWeekly, Locke finally opened up about his character reveal. The actor confessed that, from the beginning, the showrunner from the series, Jac Schaefferhad warned him about fan theories and, therefore, the surprise would have to come in another way:
“You can do the least surprising thing in the most surprising way, and that’s how you hook an audience.”he stated.

“The story is getting more serious. It starts with Billy being like a familiar, someone secondary to all the witches. But now we know he’s also a wizard, and that changes things.”added Locke.
“Furthermore, we also know that he has the ability to hurt them. Therefore, he is now the most powerful person on the Path. What does this change in the dynamics of the group and how will it change, in the future, in these relationships?”added the actor.
In the interview, Joe Locke He also spoke about the character’s ambiguity: “At the end of the fifth episode, we don’t know what happens to those witches, but he’s up to no good. We play a lot with [as possibilidades]. Does that make him a bad person? Is he a good person?”he explained.
“And that then draws parallels to the mother figures in her life. Wanda does bad things, but is not necessarily bad. AgathaIt’s questionably bad, but there’s more to it too.”continued.
“We know he’s lying to her and we play a lot with this dynamic of how duplicitous he is. The facade of fanboy Is teenager completely fake or is it still a real part of him? That’s what I found so interesting about playing him.”concluded Locke.
