Netflix’s Korean hit, which returns with new episodes soon, should expand its universe with an English-language version
Despite having recently been renewed for its third and final season,, Round 6Netflix’s hit Korean series, may be far from over — and David Fincherfrom Fight Club (1999), Gone Girl (2014) and The Assassin (2023), would be responsible for keeping the flame burning.
The filmmaker would be working on a new series in the universe of Round 6according to sources from Deadlinenow in English. However, there is no confirmation whether the new feature will be a remake from the original story or a spin-off series. Also according to the vehicle, Netflix refused to comment on the project.
What is the story of Round 6?
In Round 6456 people in an emergency situation, who urgently need money, receive a mysterious invitation to join a mysterious game. Those who respond to the invitation are locked in a secret location, where they play children’s games to earn 45.6 billion won (the series’ currency). However, the consequence of losing is no child’s play and results in the death of the participants.
In the second season, three years after winning the Lula Game, Player 456 remains firm in his purpose of discovering who is behind the competition to put an end to the cruel scheme and now has money to finance his search.
Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) starts in the most obvious places, looking for the man in a suit who proposed a game to him on the subway platform. As he begins to obtain results in his searches, he realizes that his fight against the organization will be more deadly than he imagined: to end the game, he will need to participate in it again.
