Joseph Quinn, Eddie of Stranger Things, revealed that the preparation to play the character made him feel like a sociopath

Joseph Quinn revealed that making the American accent of Eddie in Stranger Things(2016) was one of the hardest parts of the character, admitting he felt like a “sociopath” for being a British actor.

Eddie was one of the highlights of the fourth season of the series Netflix. The leader character of the Hellfire Club RPG group soon won over the public, becoming one of the favorites. In an interview with the podcast Off Menuthe actor recalled the difficulty of impersonating an American.

“You feel like a sociopath,” he said. “After a while I was so far down the ‘rabbit hole’ that at times I was like, ‘Do I look good? Do you like it? Do you like what I’m doing?’.”

Quinn also revealed that Joe Keerywho interprets Steve Harrington, reassured him about the accent. “I was talking to Joe Keery at one point and I was so wrapped up in it and he said, ‘Man, I can’t save you, but I promise you’ll be fine,’” he recalled.

Quinn is not the only actor in the cast of Stranger Thingshaving to change his accent to be on the show. Millie Bobby Brownwhich interprets Elevenand Charlie HeatonWho lives jonathan, are also British. As the series takes place in Indian, in the United States, these adaptations are necessary.


When does Stranger Things season 5 premiere?

“There was a six-month hiatus during the pandemic when we envisioned season five and sent it to Netflix. The range should be much smaller this time, because we have the initial idea,” they said.

Despite the optimism, audiences should wait at least a year for the fifth season to premiere, as the team was 100% focused on finishing the fourth by the end of May this year.
