This cult medical series should be getting its own reboot (and there’s good news)

Scrubthe iconic American medical sitcom of the 2000s

If several medical series had already been successful in the United States, Scrub offered something different by adopting a comedic angle. Broadcast from 2001 to 2010, the sitcom took us through the adventures of several members of the Sacré-Cœur hospital. Of which JD interns Turk and Elliot.

The series created by Bill Lawrence attracted many viewers during its broadcast. The first three seasons averaged pover 10 million viewers. Today the series is considered worship. However, Hollywood continues to reboot works with this status. AND Scrub is on its way to becoming a new example.

Bill Lawrence working on a reboot

According to information from Varietywhich Bill Lawrence is currently working on a new version of Scrub for the ABC channel. At the moment the project is only at the beginning of its development. But if ABC is happy with what the creator of the original series will offer, viewers should then be able to immerse themselves in this universe.

On the other hand, if ABC gives the green light to make the new version of Scrub, Bill Lawrence will not be the showrunner. It is still too early to know who will take his place. The casting of this new version also remains a mystery. But according to Zach Braff, if the production offered members of the original series to reprise their roles, they should enthusiastically accept.

Zach Braff is very excited to return, but…

Zach Braff was one of the headliners of Scrub. He played JD. In 2022, during an interview with The Hollywood journalistthe actor had said so the series’ main cast members all wanted to reprise their roles. Provided Bill Lawrence is responsible:

We all want to do it in one way or another, whether it’s in a movie, a limited series, or something else. We just can’t do it without the king of all things Scrubs, Bill Lawrence. If the project made sense, I’m sure there wouldn’t be a single cast member who wouldn’t love for us to get together and do it.

The condition posed by Zach Braff is therefore satisfied. Because Bill Lawrence is actually taking on the reboot project himself. Scrub. But nothing says at the moment that he intends to bring back the actors from the original series. If he decides to start from scratch and focus his story on new characters, he will therefore turn to him a different cast.
