The previously expansive Arrowverse on The CW has shrunk significantly in size, with the flash being the only survivor as revealed in the superman and laws season finale that the series is not set in the Arrowverse. While the series was able to bring David Ramsey’s John Diggle for a few episodes, showrunner Todd Helbing reveals the complications of doing full crossovers now.
With the cancellations of bat Yes dc legends of tomorrow earlier this year, owning a crossover can be difficult, though the flash still standing like superman and laws. He talked to Todd Helbing collider discuss the possibility of crossings S&L, and this seems less likely to happen, at least soon:
This version of what we’ve done probably is [done] because we don’t have all those characters anymore. [From] these shows, all the actors will go ahead and do different projects, or life will keep them busy. It’s hard to speculate otherwise that these are still comic book shows. There are always guests at comic shows. I don’t know if we will have exactly the same, it is difficult to perceive [what would happen in] the genre of superheroes.
Because superman and laws confirmed not to be in the Arrowverse, it seems that it would be difficult to do another multi-show crossover like in the early days of the superhero universe. With the heroes of the other series now gone from The CW and no sign legends of tomorrow This is bat will be saved after their abrupt cancellation, it’s hard to know which part of the story a crossover might fit into, even if the timing was right.
However, just because it won’t happen anytime soon doesn’t mean Todd Helbing isn’t thinking about it yet. He admitted that the only person / superhero he would like to be invited to superman and lawsand it would surely be lightning in a bottle:
If there’s a chance … I love Grant [Gustin], Grant is a friend. I have ties to this show, but I’d say if there was, Flash would probably be my first call. Now it’s a little tricky to do all of this, but we’ll see what happens.
Todd Helbing previously worked at the flash, so the connection is there! Time superman and laws You may not be able to offer full crossovers like the Arrowverse, the series has been able to create guest slots. I would have liked to have seen Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers, aka Clark Kent’s super cousin. Before super girlIn last fall’s finale, the actress admitted she was “not averse” to reprising her role if it fits the character. Maybe I can take a trip to Smallville?
During, superman and laws initially it was to have a cross with bat in 2021, but was canceled due to COVID. Unfortunately, now with bat canceled e superman and laws officially not in the Arrowverse, this crossover will never see the light. We cross our fingers that the series has a similar event the flash“Armageddon”, where superheroes from current and past shows appear in some way.
Unfortunately, the third season of superman and laws It won’t premiere until the middle of next year’s season, but that gives fans plenty of time to theorize what will happen after the Season 2 finale and to expect more guest appearances next season.
superman and laws is streaming on HBO Max now with a subscription!
