The new feature continues the events of Dexter: New Blood, Dexter’s first spin-off, and should premiere soon on Paramount+
Paramount+ released, this Tuesday (17), the first preview of Dexter: Resurrectiona new series in the franchise starring Michael C. Hall(Six Feet Under), which continues the events of Dexter (2006-2013) and Dexter: New Blood (2021-2022).
The news comes in the wake of the debut of Dexter: Original Sinwhich recently arrived on Paramount+ and addresses the past of serial killer. In Dexter: Resurrectionhowever, we will find out what happened to the character after the dramatic events of Dexter: New Bloodwhich seemed to have ended the story of Dexter Morgan. What is the story of Dexter: Original Sinnew series in the franchise?
Dexter: Original Sin will take us to the past to meet the youth of Dexter Morgan before he became the man we met in the original series: a forensic expert who, during the day, solved crimes and, at night, committed murders.
Patrick Gibsonknown as The OA (2016-2019) and Shadow and Bones (2021-2023), is the protagonist of the new development. Christian Slater (Mr Robot) interprets Harry Morganthe character’s father, and Molly Brown (Back to the Ball) lives the sister of Dexter, Debra Morgan. In the original series, the characters were from James Remar (Oppenheimer) and Jennifer Carpenter (The White Girls), respectively.
Dexter: Original Sin also has James Martinez (Billions) as Angel Batistalived by David Zayas (The Expendables) in the original; Christina Milian (Love for Rent) as Maria LaGuertaa role that was Luna Lauren Velez (Transformers: Dawn of the Beasts) and Alex Shimizu (The Blacklist) as Vince Masukawhich has already been interpreted by CS Lee (Chuck).
Finally, the cast of the series also brings Sarah Michelle Gellarfrom Buffy: The Vampire Slayer (1997-2003), as the head of Dexter at the Miami Police Department; Reno Wilsonfrom Good Girls (2018-2021) as Bobby Wattconfidant of Harry Morgan; and Patrick Dempseyfrom Grey’s Anatomy (2005- ) as Aaron SpencerCaptain of the Miami Metro Homicide Division, who has a decades-long relationship with morgan.
