To whom mosquitoes like to bite the most and who remain indifferent – a medical explanation

The main question every summer is why some mosquitoes don’t seem to notice at all, while others are ready to gnaw to the bone. The Russian doctor revealed the reason, sharing the results of scientific research.

Scientists have discovered that the mosquito is attracted to a source of heat and carbon dioxide. This is why overweight people, children, pregnant women, athletes and drunken citizens may seem “tastier” to mosquitoes – they emit more carbon dioxide with their breath and their body temperature may be higher. In addition, people in dark clothes increase the risk of being bitten – mosquitoes recognize this better than light ones.

However, that’s not all. Pediatrician Elena Androsova revealed that mosquitoes are also attracted to the individual smell of the victim’s skin, regulated by microflora. Nearly 300 chemicals and compounds released to the surface of the epidermis, in different versions, can create combinations that work on bloodsuckers the same way the smell of a freshly baked bun affects us! Especially mosquitoes cite ammonia and lactic acid.

Mosquitoes love you?

Very

Hopefully not

The doctor confirmed that the owners of the first blood type can indeed be considered more appetizing, but clarified that their charms do not work on all types of mosquitoes.

It will also be useful to know that a high level of vitamin B in the blood, on the contrary, keeps annoying insects away. This vitamin, remember, is also useful for the nerves!
