The new feature comes into effect this Friday (10) and allows free visits from 6pm to 8pm at the Avenida Paulista building
THE São Paulo Museum of Art (Masp) announced the extension of opening hours on Fridays. Starting this Friday (10), the museum, located in Avenida Paulista, in São Paulowill be open until 9pm, allowing free entry from 6pm to 8pm. The measure seeks to encourage the public to visit the space after working hours.
To take advantage of the free ticket, you must book tickets on the official Masp website.
For now, free entry only includes the Lina Bo Bardi Buildingbut, from April onwards, with the inauguration of the Pietro Maria Bardi Buildingthe benefit will also be valid in the new building. In addition, the museum maintains other forms of free admission, such as on Tuesdays, from 10 am to 7 pm, and for children up to 10 years old, members of the Amigo Masp program, people with disabilities and their companions.
In a note, the institution stated (via The Globe): “The initiative reinforces Masp’s commitment to expanding access to culture.”
Exhibitions on display
Currently, Masp presents three exhibitions:
- LGBTQIA+ Stories: open until April 13th.
- Queer screen printers: freedom for sensibilities: available until March 16th.
- Video Room: Manauara Clandestina: audiovisual installation on view until January 26th.
Opening hours and prices
Masp is open from Tuesday to Sunday. Tickets cost R$75 (full price) and R$37 (half price for students, teachers and seniors). On Fridays, with the new extended opening hours, free visits will take place between 6pm and 8pm.
