TV Ratings: Primetime viewership on January 6 was 17.7 million.

On January 6, the last hearing of the summer by a select committee of Congress drew another large television audience.

According to Nielsen, 17.67 million people tuned in to the primetime recording on 10 broadcast and cable networks. That’s down from the 20 million who watched the first televised audience (on 11 channels) on June 9, but significantly more people who watched any of the six days of audience between the two prime-time sessions.

The eight audiences averaged around 13.1 million viewers, with daytime sessions ranging from 10.16 million to 13.23 million. The committee plans additional hearings in September.

MSNBC had the highest ratings of any individual network on Thursday, with 4.88 million viewers for its viewership coverage. ABC had 3.98 million viewers, followed by CNN (3.18 million), NBC (2.69 million) and CBS (2.68 million). CNBC, CNNe, Fox Business Network, NBCLX and NewsNation made up the rest of the audience.

CNN (0.66 rating) and ABC (0.65) topped prime time in the top adult 25-54 demographic news. NBC averaged 0.56, MSNBC 0.53 and CBS 0.42.

As it did on June 9, Fox News did not offer full coverage of the audience, but maintained its regular talk show schedule. The network averaged 2.66 million viewers and a 0.3 rating in the 25-54 primetime demo.

Univision Annual youth awards The show drew 1.88 million viewers and topped all broadcast and cable TV with a 0.68 rating among adults aged 18-49.
