A futuristic adventure brought forward by Tom Cruise

Published in 2013, Oblivion transports viewers to a future where Earth has been ravaged by a war against alien invaders. Tom Cruise plays Jack Harper, a technician responsible for maintaining the drones that protect the ship vital resources of the last human beings. While patrolling the ruins of the planet, he discovers a mysterious ship that calls into question everything he thought he knew about his world and his mission.

Joseph Kosinski’s direction is one of the film’s major assets. Drawing on his experience in architecture, the director offers striking images, including the desert landscapes of the Forsaken Earth and the elegant futuristic infrastructure. The film is also accompanied by an engaging soundtrack, composed by M83, which amplifies the melancholic and epic atmosphere of this work.

Tom Cruise, true to his reputation, offers a committed performance, including spectacular action scenes and moments of reflection.
