The wait is over. After eight years, the Japanese game developer Nintendo confirmed the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2. It is the successor to the console originally launched in 2017, which recently reached 146 million units sold.
This Thursday (16), the company published a video trailer with the first details about the console. Watch below.

According to an official statement, the Nintendo Switch 2 will be able to play both games exclusive to the Nintendo Switch 2 and games for the Nintendo Switch in physical and digital versions.
Some games from the first Switch may not be compatible or may only be partially compatible with the Switch 2 at launch. More details will be available at a later date on the company page.
The general promise is of evolutions at different points in the first console. The second and new model should have a larger screen and control, as well as a modern design with a predominance of black.
There are still few details revealed regarding the Nintendo Switch 2. The Japanese company promises to reveal more news in a broadcast on April 2nd.
