Stranger Things: Filming a scene with ‘Master of Puppets’ was ‘stressful,’ recalls Joseph Quinn

Scene with ‘Master of Puppets’ has become one of the most iconic of any series on Netflix

the fourth season of Stranger Things brought several highlights to the Netflix original series, and one of them was the scene in which Eddie Munsonplayed by Joseph Quinnrang “Master of Puppets,” iconic hit from Metallicato distract creatures from the inverted world. However, according to the actor, filming this was quite “stressful.”

Last Monday night, the 25th, Quinn was the guest on the talk show The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and, of course, talked about Stranger Things. As the actor explained, as much as the result was great and loved by fans, the coronavirus pandemic brought a great challenge to film the scene with “Master of Puppets.”

“It was kind of stressful. But [filmamos] at a weird time in the pandemic, when no one had seen a live show in ages,” said the British actor on the television show. “It was just me and Gaten [Matarazzo, intérprete de Dustin Henderson]… and it was so much fun.”

“I was nervous, but it was kind of a rock concert,” he continued. Joseph Quinn. “And I got to feel like a real rock star for one night. And that was great.” With the success of the series, “Master of Puppets” entered the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time since its release in the 1980s. The song reached number 40 on the chart.

O Metallica had his music played in an epic scene at the end of season four of Stranger Thingsmoment when Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn), one of the most beloved characters by fans, plays “Master of Puppets” with his guitar on top of a trailer.

The band published a cut of the scene on Instagram and in the caption poured praise for the brothers duffercreators of the series.

“The way the Duffer brothers incorporate any music into Stranger Things has always been top notch, so we were beyond excited to see ‘Master of Puppets’ in the series, even more so to have such a pivotal scene”

During the episode, Eddie Munson need to distract the monsters of the Upside Down with his guitar, and on the side, we see Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) excited about the track. The guitar solo continues during the cut of other characters maintaining an extremely frantic breakout rhythm during the scene.

The sky behind the characters turns red, perhaps a reference to the cover of the album of the same name. Master of Puppets (1986). Once the performance is over, the duo descends from the trailer and Dustin says, “Dude. The best. Metal. EVER.”

O Metallica was dazzled by the scene and wrote on Instagram:

“We were all excited to see the final result and when we saw it we were totally blown away… it’s so well done, so much so that some people were able to guess the song just by seeing Joseph Quinn’s hands [Eddie em Stranger Things] on guitar” Metallica continued in their post. “How crazy is that?”
