Netflix today released the official trailer for Pinocchiothe highly anticipated stop-motion project by Guillermo del Toro.
The film, directed by the famous Oscar-winning director in collaboration with Mark Gustafsonbringing to the stage the beloved fairy tale of Carlo Collodi with a stop-motion musical that will follow the extraordinary adventures of the famous wooden puppet. Set in Italy during the rise of fascism, the new iteration of Del Toro’s story will be a tale of defiance and love and disobedience, centered around efforts to live up to the expectations of fathers.
The voice cast includes high-sounding names including I don’t know McGregor, David Bradley, Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman and the very young Gregory Mann who will lend a voice to the woody protagonist. The film was written by Del Toro himself in collaboration with Patrick McHale. Producers are also included Lisa Henson of Jim Henson Company, Alex Bulkley, Corey Campodonico And Gary Ungar. Jason Lust he was involved as an executive producer instead.
