Gustavo Santaolalla and “Roncoco”

It was with Guitarocko that Santaolalla composed much of the trail of The Last of Usas the musician told the Fender’s official channel in Youtube (via Gitarist):

“With this instrument, you can touch and compose the melody at the same time. After many years playing ronroco and rock on the electric guitar, I started to think, ‘What if I could do something that was a mixture of roll and electric guitar?’

The Argentine musician based in the US completes:

“For me, it is oversight to work. I don’t sit waiting for the lamp to light. With inspiration, sometimes it takes longer or sometimes happens immediately. And The Last of Us was one of those cases. I woke up, got out of bed and somehow knew that the ronroco would be there, and the melody came out as if it had been lowered.”
