It is official: this series has dethroned Stranger Things and becomes the second vision most of all time on Netflix

Unexpected success all over the world

Transmission from April on Netflix, the mini-series of adolescence has just crossed a historical course: with 141.2 million cumulative opinions, it becomes the Second series of words in English most watched in the history of the platform. It is therefore in advance of the season 4 of Stranger Things (140.7 million), long considered untouchable. Only the first season of Wednesday retains its first place, with a total of 252 million views.

This turning point is explained by a combination of controlled stadial and writing rooted in reality. Composed of four episodes, adolescence presents a teenager who breaks, played by bluffing Owen Cooper, whose daily life is shocked when he is accused of murder. The series explores the social and family tensions of a British youth disadvantaged in an urban and narrow urban environment. Adopt the format of the sequence plan to strengthen the immersion, without ever sacrificing the dramatic tension.

Towards a season 2?

Originally designed as a mini-series without follow-up, adolescence could ultimately be extended. Stephen Graham told Variety that a second season was “possible” and that the team was thinking of a new story, disconnected from the first. His wife Hannah Walters, executive manufacturer of the series, is more reserved but recognizes that the format of the sequence plan still offers many creative possibilities.

International success pushes Netflix to consider a suite. However, no official confirmation has been provided. The final of the first season seems to close the course of the main character, but the world of the series remains rich enough to host other trajectories.
