Bridgerton: Why does season 2 have few intimate scenes? Jonathan Bailey explains

Unlike the first season, the second season of Bridgerton featured few intimate sequences between the characters.

the first season of bridgerton (2020) featured several sex scenes between Daphne (Phoebe Dynevor) and Simon (Regé-Jean Page). However, in the second season, the intimate sequences were much reduced – and the actor Jonathan Bailey explained the reason.

Bailey, interpreter of Anthony, revealed, in an interview with USA Todaythe reason for bridgerton to have softened the sex sequences in the second season: to make the intimate scenes make more sense in the future after the relationship has been better addressed in the script.

“What you lose in sex scenes you gain in deeper human understanding. This hopefully enriches the plot so that future intimacy scenes aren’t a cumbersome feature, and so the plot doesn’t have to rely so heavily on them.”

Bailey He added: “It would have been wrong for Kate [Simone Ashley] and Anthony have had a physical relationship earlier. The reward is truly deserved.”
