Given that Soldier Boy was Vought’s first superhero during World War II, the company was obviously trying to keep his name in the public eye, foreshadowing The Seven’s blockbuster status for years to come. But it was clearly more of a tough Hollywood, with Jensen Ackles’ goofy performance not the only intentionally terrible element. Although it does show how exceptional Ackles can be as an actor, as he’s a real talent for delivering an incredibly poorly handled performance.
Soldier Boy is one of the fan favorite characters The boys comics, so fans got a feel for what it would be like when it was introduced in season three. However, when Jensen Ackles was announced as the one wearing the super suit, he only raised the anticipation that the actor would face arguably the most NSFW scenes of his career to date.
Meanwhile, now that season 4 of the series is in production, like confirmed by star Jack QuaidI hope more fake content will be released pending the arrival of new episodes in 2023, with The boys promote its fake Vought ++ streaming service. Who knows the types of films that could get there?
In addition to a fourth season of The boysthe franchise is expanding with a new spin-off series, Generation V, which will follow a new and young generation of supers in a Hunger Games-Esque show set in a middle school exclusively for young adult superheroes. The spin-off series has already had a complicated development, with Generation V swapping the original tracks through the redesign, but nothing can stop this super franchise from taking off.
Even if you can’t really look red thunder on Vought ++, since it doesn’t exist, you can watch all three seasons of The boys now on Amazon Prime with a subscription.
