Tulipa Ruiz resumes partnership with Chinese artist and announces tour and documentary

Partnership born in an artistic residency of 2020 results in the songs “Alongo” and “Bamboo Stem” and leads the singer to stages such as Montreux Jazz Festival China

The Brazilian singer and songwriter Tulipa Ruiz It is strengthening its artistic connection with China through a new project. The artist announced the release of two songs, “Alongo” and “Bamboo Stem”in partnership with the Chinese multimedia artist Yehayahahan. The lanes reach digital platforms on October 10, accompanied by bilingual music videos. The release precedes a new solo tour of Tulip by the Asian country.

The collaboration is the result of an artistic residency held in January 2020 in Lijiang, as part of the cultural cooperation project “China Tropical”supported by the Brazilian Embassy in China. Five years later, the partnership comes to public life, with music production Gustavo Ruiz and clips directed by Filipe Franco.

“Our meeting strengthens the presence of female voices on the international scene and projects art as a connection space,” says Tulipa Ruiz.

Beyond the launch, Tulipa Ruiz He was invited by the Chinese government to represent Brazil on the prestigious Liangzhu Arts Forum. The trip unfolds on a tour of important stages of the country, including performances in the Chinese edition of the Montreux Jazz Festival, the Shanghai Festival and Lincoln Center Shanghai, consolidating the presence of the Brazilian artist in the Asian scene.

This cultural exchange does not end in 2025. The project foresees the launch of a documentary in 2026, also directed by Filipe Francowhich will bring together images captured in both 2020 and during the new tour. The film will serve as a portrait of the longevity and strength of this transcontinental cooperation, showing how art builds bridges between distant cultures.
