Drops of God was unanimous with its first few episodes
Adapted from the manga written by Tadashi Agi and illustrated by Shū Okimoto, Drops of God starts with the death of Alexandre Léger, one of the greatest names in oenology. After reading his will, Camille, his daughter those who have not seen him for many years learn that he has amassed the largest collection of wines in the world. But to inherit it, he will have to win three tasting tests against a brilliant winemaker, Issei Tominewhom Alexander considered his “spiritual son”. To make matters worse, Camille never drinks alcohol!
French, Japanese and American co-production, Drops of God was released in 2023 on Apple TV+. The series got it 93% positive reviews among the public ON Rotten tomatoes…and even 100% among journalists! Her too won the International Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series. Subsequently, Apple TV+ officially launched the development ofa second season in May 2024.
Season 2 will launch in early 2026
More than a year after the announcement of its second season, we now know the return date of the series created by Quoc Dang trans. Drops of God will return to Apple TV+ January 21, 2026as announced by the streaming platform su his Instagram account. Second Expirationthis new season will have eight episodes. Be the same number as the first. The media indicates it only the first episode will be revealed on January 21st. After that, a new episode will arrive every weekuntil the last one on March 11th.
A search “dangerous” for Camille and Issei
According to the official synopsis of this second season, Camille and Issei will embark “their most dangerous challenge”. They will have to do it discover the origin of the greatest wine in the world. A mystery so profound that not even Alexandre Léger was able to solve it. Their task will make them travel to the four corners of the world and across the centuries.
They will thus bring it to light “forgotten stories, hidden rivalries and secrets buried for generations”. During their search, Camille and Issei will be led to question themselves what they are willing to sacrifice. The answer they could break the bond that unites thembut also destroy them both.
