The third Mortal combat it’s already official!
Presented in 2021, Mortal combat adapts the famous video game of the same name. Its story revolves around Cole Youngan MMA fighter recruited by a mysterious man to compete a tournament that pits Earth’s greatest champions against enemies from the Other World. To achieve victory, Cole will have to learn to master his powers.
Despite the film’s mixed reception Simon McQuoidWarner Bros. agreed to produce a sequel. Recently, some members of the feature film crew went to present Mortal Combat II at New York Comic-Con. And as reported by The Hollywood journalistthe screenwriter Jeremy Slater he revealed it Warner Bros. had already given the green light for a third part!
“No downtime” in the second part
The study therefore seems confident in the good results of Mortal Combat II at the box office. Exactly, a new teaser of this feature film, in which the actors describe this new story. At Comic Con, Simon McQuoid also revealed he wanted it “overcoming the limits of each element” with this new film.

If the first film revolved around Cole Young, Mortal Combat II mainly focuses on Johnny Cage and Kitana. The first is played by Carlo Urbano. And according to the actor, this character is “a broken man” at the beginning of the feature film. Around him, “the world has forgotten who Johnny Cage is”. But the tournament will transform it :
Over the course of the film you will see him transform into a true champion of Earth, a hero unknowingly thrown into this crazy adventure.
Originally, Mortal Combat II was supposed to be released in theaters on October 22. Unfortunately, to see it, you’ll have to wait until next year, as the release date has been pushed back. It is now set to May 13, 2026.
