TF1 reveals the great casting of The Countess of Monte Cristo
Written by Alexandre Dumas, The Count of Monte Cristo has given rise to several adaptations. The one released in 2024 and worn by Pierre Niney was a true triumph, managing to seduce both critics and the public. One year later, TF1 is gearing up a new adaptation, this time very free – of the French writer’s novel, which will take the form ofa miniseries: The Countess of Monte Cristo.
Through a press release, TF1 has just announced the start of filming the series. As well as its casting. A rereading focused on Mercédès Herrera
The Countess of Monte Cristo is centered on the character of Mercedes Herrera. Ready to do anything for Edmond Dantès, she fights to get him out of prison when he is unjustly arrested and sent to languish in the Château d’If. But while he was hatching a plan to get him out, Edmond is killed while attempting to escape.

The Countess of Monte Cristo was written by Gaia Guasti (The Revolution), Djibril Glissant (HPI), Clement Peny (The survivors) AND Florian Spitzer (Follow). The miniseries is produced by Djibril Glissant (HPI) AND Leonardo D’Antoni (Narcos: Mexico). And it will be cut 8 episodes of 52 minutes. It should be passed on in 2026.
