Photographer accuses rapper of copying photo of Dungeon Family house without permission and seeks compensation
Future is being sued for alleged copyright infringement related to the cover of Pluto Mixtape (2024). The photographer Garey C. Gomez claims that the image of the collective’s house Dungeon Family was used as cover art and on merchandise without licensing or compensation, according to documents obtained by AllHipHop.
In the process, which also names Titol Retail LLC and Wilburn Holding Company Inc. (companies linked to the Freebandz label of Future), Gomez claims to have tried to reach an agreement with the rapper’s team, without success. He is seeking financial redress, profits made from the art and a court order preventing continued use of the image.
Gomez claims to have never granted permission to use the photo nor received payment. He accuses Future and their companies from using the image without authorization, including in promotional products linked to the album.
The use of the house Dungeon Family as a visual theme for Pluto Mixtape was interpreted as a tribute to Atlanta’s musical history and the collective’s legacy. But this symbolic aspect does not nullify the legal claims.
Future in 2024
Pluto Mixtape debuted at the top of the Billboard 200, marking her third number-one album. Future in just six months. The 47-minute mixtape features production from names like Southside, Wheezy and London on da Track.

Before this solo project, Future released two collaborative albums with Metro Boomin: We Don’t Trust You (2024) and We Still Don’t Trust You (2024). The releases helped maintain his presence at the top of the charts and kicked off the fights and tensions in the hip hop scene, especially between him, Subway and Drake.
