A key member of HBO’s executive team has signed a long-term agreement to take over the premium cable.
Francesca Orsi, who directs the drama series and HBO Films, has extended her contract through 2026. The sequel follows Casey Bloys, chief content officer at HBO and HBO Max, who has signed on through 2027.
“Francesca’s taste, her deep understanding of history, and unparalleled relationships with the best creators working today make her a truly remarkable drama executive,” Blois said in a statement. “I am delighted that Francesca has decided to continue her long and successful career at HBO and that we will continue to work together for years to come.”
Orsi will also have a new role: executive vice president of programming at HBO, head of drama series and films at HBO. The title reflects that he added HBO Films to his work in 2020; He has been the head of the drama department since 2016. He started working at HBO in 2003 as an assistant in the drama department.
The Orsi and Bloys expansions come after restructuring and layoffs following the merger of WarnerMedia, parent of HBO and HBO Max, with Discovery.
