Vasculitis is the designation for a group of autoimmune diseases that cause inflammation of blood vessels (microscopic or even arteries and veins). The disease restricts blood flow, causing damage to the body’s organs and tissues.

In case of Ashton, the disease affected his senses and even his locomotion. It took months and months of recovery until the actor finally got better – all this after a long time without knowing if he would ever see, hear or walk again.
