The White Lotus: sexism, mystery and Jennifer Coolidge are featured in new trailer

Jennifer Coolidge is the only one of the main cast of the first season of The White Lotus to return in the sequel

One of the most anticipated productions of the HBO in 2022, the second season of The White Lotusseries created, written and directed by Mike Whitefinally won official trailer this Thursday afternoon, 6.

With an all-new cast (with the exception of the return of the illustrious Jennifer Coolidge), the preview of the second phase of the series shows the first glimpses of actors like F. Murray Abraham (Bert Di Grasso), Theo James (Cameron Babcock), Michael Imperioli (Dominic DiGrasso) and Aubrey Plaza (Harper Spiller), which promise to be highlights in addition, of course, to coolidge.

Jennifer Coolidge revealed how she felt labeled with specific roles before starring The White Lotusacclaimed series of HBO released in 2021. The actress became known for playing Jeanine Stifler in American Pie (1999), the beautician Paulette in Legally Blonde (2001) and the prospector Sherri Ann Cabot in the movie The best of the show (2000).

In an interview with vanity fair alongside co-star of American Pie, Natasha Lyonne, coolidge looked back on his career. “I did these jobs that held me to a certain perception. I was in this weird bubble for a long time,” she said. “And it just goes to show you how you really should put up with it and not repeat yourself, but I was always desperate for work. I often thought, ‘I don’t know if I’ll ever get an offer again.'”

“Actually, except for some fun little jobs in movies like Austenland (2013), it was not until Mike White really gave me a paper [em The White Lotus] where I really played someone very different,” the actress continued. “Look, everything happens in its own time, but it had this very long period of repeating myself.”

Then, Jennifer Coolidge explained how several proposals for very similar roles arrived for a while, with the exception of a production by the screenwriter Christopher Guest: “I wish I was more involved in controlling my career. I just accepted, I was too passive.”

It is worth remembering how the actress was nominated for the Golden Globe in Best Supporting Actress in a Seriesbut lost to Sarah Snookinterpreter of Shiv Roy in Succession.
