IFC Films transfers a payment transaction to the in-house AMC + –

IFC Films shifts its compensation to a one-stop shop on AMC+, a streaming service wholly owned by its parent company AMC Networks.

Along with the news of a one-time payment transaction comes a new launch strategy that includes a new AMC+ feature every Friday from IFC Films as well as sister companies IFC Midnight, RLJE and Shudder, all part of AMC Networks. AMC+ delivers movies 90 days after their theatrical release, with select titles releasing in theaters and on the service daily. (IFC Films has already signed distribution deals with Showtime and Hulu.)

The last Friday of the month was called “Final Friday” and was dedicated to the new genre horror film Shudder. The first release will be on May 6th with the premiere of the title streaming from IFC Films. PurifiedOscar-winning actress Adrienne Broad. IFC Films President Arianna Bocco said: “For more than two decades, IFC Films has led the industry in developing diversified distribution strategies for independent films that bring viewers to the best global and American independent films. We are proud to continue this story of innovation and provide the public with more opportunities to discover our incredible library on AMC+.”

AMC previously debuted several streams in late 2021, including the Dark Holiday feature Silent Night From RLJE, starring Keira Knightley. AMC says that “this slide outperformed popular library titles movies in terms of viewership and acquisition, even user engagement among the best AMC+ original series.”

With the new agreement, AMC+ will exponentially expand its feature offering. Currently, the service is better known as Flow House for the AMC series, as The Walking Dead, Tales of the Walking Dead, Better Call Saul And more recent quotes like Kevin can tell for himself.

AMC+ General Manager Courtney Thomas said, “Expanding our movie offerings was the next logical step to continue to serve and grow our audience.”
