The Last of Us: THAT scene of Tess ‘spoils’ game character

second episode of The Last of Us, entitled “infected,” finally aired last Sunday, the 22nd, and was very faithful to the original game, released in 2013. However, the way in which the death of TessInterpreted by Anna Torv in the adaptation, it happens and quite differently – and represents a big change for the character.

Just like in games, Tess is bitten by a snapper (which represents the third stage of fungus infection Cordyceps) when she, Joel (Pedro Pascal) and Ellie (Bella Ramsey) passed an abandoned museum with “zombies.” The character reveals the news to her companions only when they reach their destination: Congress from Boston.

At the Congress, Joel and Tess would deliver Ellie to a group of Fireflies, who would take the girl to another base of the group to finally develop a cure for the pandemic. However, the Fireflies they were all dead because one of them was bitten by an infected.

Then, Tess stay in place and talk to Joel and Ellie follow the path to the west, where the girl would be taken by the Fireflies. So, the character of Anna Torv starts putting gasoline and grenades on the ground to kill the horde of zombies that were running towards the Congress.

Tess would blow up the place by lighting a lighter and throwing it in gasoline (even with several weapons and grenades, which would make this job easier). However, the character freezes because the lighter does not light – and only spark came out. Then, an infected approaches and begins to “kiss” her to speed up the infection. At that moment, she manages to explode the Congress when finally lighting the object.

How does Tess die in the original The Last of Us game?

In the original game, the Fireflies of Congress they were not killed by an infected person, but by another faction who murdered them by exchanging fire. When Tess, Joel and Ellie arrive at the location, realize that more enemies would be on the way.
