Aleksandr Pal TV series Second Wind completes filming

Filming has completed on Second Wind, a new television series starring actor Aleksandr Pal as a former athlete placed in an unusual treatment facility.

The project marks the first television series directed by Ruslan Bratov, who previously directed the short film Lalai-Balalai and the feature film Express. Both of those projects won top awards at major Russian festivals, including Kinotavr, Window to Europe, New Season, and Pilot.

Story and central character

In Second Wind, Pal plays Ilya, a former athlete who enters the Doverie center for people dealing with various addictions. The center operates as a hybrid between a rehab facility, a prison, and a hospital. Over time, Ilya realizes that his physical confinement inside the facility reveals an inner freedom within him.

Bratov co-wrote the script alongside Mikhail Khuranov. Mikhail Chistov created the series concept and wrote the first episode, having previously worked on projects including Mammoths, Fizruk, and 257 Reasons to Live.

The cast also features Ekaterina Shabashova, Aleksandra Krotkova, Evgeniy Perevalov, Ilya Varankin, Artur Khatagov, and Roman Zhdanov.
