Alex Warren Leaks Half of New Album During Livestream

Streaming from the Instagram account Talk Shop Live, Warren opened the session by asking fans which song they wanted to hear. He then played the second verse of Rescuer, a track listeners had not heard before.

While searching for the file, Warren joked that if he ever wanted to preview new music he simply needed to go live, noting that he could leak half the album right away.

Before sharing more music, Warren explained that he was hosting the livestream because he had signed numerous vinyl records, adding that both signed vinyls and CDs were now available to purchase.

Unreleased tracks and fan choices

Offering viewers a choice between Cry Wolf, Same Stars, and Emerald Eyes, Warren selected Cry Wolf and played its second verse. He described the track as having an upbeat rhythm that makes it impossible not to move, while noting that the lyrics were a bit depressing.

When a viewer asked if he would play Are You Having Fun, Alex?, Warren declined, explaining that fans would not want to hear it yet because it was terrifyingly sad and depressing. The response highlighted the emotional range of the upcoming record.

Giving fans another choice between Same Stars, Wildchild, and Emerald Eyes, Warren chose Emerald Eyes and played an upbeat, danceable bridge from the song.

Responding to a request in the comments for Won't Go Back Again, Warren played the opening section of the track. He described it as one of the most entertaining songs on the album, featuring a strong beatbox style base. He added that among his friends and inner circle, everyone had selected it as their favorite track.

Collaborations and sentimental tributes

Warren then announced that he would leak the title track, Wildchild, without hesitation, comparing the bold move to Ariana Grande leaking Petal a month early.

Warren revealed that he had played the complete album for British singer Ed Sheeran, who identified Wildchild as his personal favorite.

The title track concludes with a minute and a half guitar solo played by the favorite artist of Warren's late father, who died when Warren was young. Warren explained that he contacted the musician on Instagram and insisted he would not release the album unless the guitarist contributed the solo. The preview revealed a calm arrangement featuring vocals and acoustic guitar.

To keep viewers entertained, Warren replayed several of the previews before naming the tracks he would not play, including Last Time, Only Thing Left, and Are You Having Fun, Alex?.

However, he shared a brief preview of I Miss You More, which he previously described in an interview as his most personal and intimate song. Dedicated to his late father, Warren noted that he has never been able to sing the track without crying.

Alex Warren is an American singer, songwriter, and digital creator known for his emotional pop music and introspective songwriting. Having built a major online presence prior to his music career, he has earned global attention for songs exploring personal loss, grief, and relationships.

Concluding the livestream, Warren said he would not leak any further music and reminded fans that signed physical copies of Wildchild remain available for order.
