The Real Housewives of Rhode Island star Alicia Carmody has revealed that wedding plans are underway with her long-time fiancé Billy Kitsili. Carmody, 41, has been engaged to the restaurateur for 10 years, and the couple shares a nine-year-old daughter named Celina. Kitsili reaffirmed his love on the Bravo reality show by dropping down on one knee for a dream proposal a decade after she first accepted his proposal.

Although the couple has not yet walked down the aisle, Carmody confirmed in an exclusive interview with The Daily Mail that wedding preparations have officially begun. The reality personality discussed her upcoming marriage while promoting her new Lunch Confessions campaign with Ziploc.

"I'm definitely planning a marriage," Carmody told The Daily Mail during the campaign launch.

In addition to wedding planning, Carmody and Kitsili jointly run Pizza Mamma, a pizza restaurant business that she intends to expand. Carmody stated that she is actively looking for new locations for the restaurant while managing a busy summer schedule.

"I am looking for new places for my restaurant," Carmody said. "I'm trying to work more. I'm definitely such a dance mom, and I'm still trying to navigate that because people don't give dance moms a lot of credit. It's a full-time job. I'm literally a stylist... The hair, the makeup, the outfits, driving everywhere, and just like balancing a big group of friends, trying to have fun."

Carmody explained that she is also reassessing her emotional boundaries and social habits within her friend group. She noted that remaining neutral during group conflicts has often backfired on her during filming.

"Balancing my emotions, talking about things that make me uncomfortable. I'm sick of being Switzerland a lot in the situation," Carmody said. "I think it's a lot. I don't think they give Switzerland enough credit for people. Because no matter what, you're always trying to make everyone happy, but everyone ends up getting mad at you because they're like, 'You didn't pick a side.' Well, why would I? I see both your points and I'm not in the fight and I just want you guys to make up."

Carmody added that trying to stay neutral can worsen disputes. "That fuels the fight because that's not a friend. They don't realize that," she said.

Navigating Show Drama and Neutrality

Carmody joined the inaugural season of The Real Housewives of Rhode Island, which quickly gained her a strong fan following. Viewers have praised her grounded personality on social media, with one fan recently commenting, "pls do not ever change, you're an icon."

Despite her growing popularity, Carmody admitted that adapting to television fame remains surreal for her and her family. She expressed surprise whenever fans approach her in public to compliment her family and performance on the show.

"Adjusting to fame, I feel like it'll never hit me," Carmody said. "When people say that they like, 'Oh, we love the show. We think you're so fun. We love your family.' I'm like, 'Are you [sure]?' It still doesn't feel real. But the things that I've learned from season one is that, just be yourself. In season two, I feel like that's why people connected with me, and so like I'm growing a lot."

Adjusting to Fame and Season Two Growth

Looking ahead to the second season of the series, Carmody promised viewers a more mature version of herself. However, she emphasized that fans should not expect a total transformation.

Carmody is now a celebrity, a new reality she says has yet to sink in

"So season two, you're gonna see me. I'm growing up at 41. It's never too late to grow up," Carmody said, adding that the show provided the push she needed. "I can't change too much because it's my DNA. I can always tweak things... Don't expect miracles from me. But I'm tweaking. I'm learning. You know, baby steps."

Rhode Island represents the 12th city in the Bravo franchise, which is currently celebrating its 20th anniversary. Carmody expressed gratitude toward the veteran cast members across the franchise who established the platform for women over 40.

"I can't believe it's real," Carmody said. "I'm so thankful for all these women for giving us, you know, moms, like 40 plus, to have this position to help other women and be honest about your real life where people can judge you. But people are also learning from my mistakes too. It's hard to watch me make mistakes on TV and the words that I say wrong. But there are so many people that are like, 'I'm the same way.'"

Franchise History and Ziploc Campaign

Carmody specifically acknowledged The Real Housewives of Orange County original cast member Vicki Gunvalson for helping launch the franchise. "It makes you feel good, you know, that there are other people that are out there and I'm just happy," Carmody said. "Was it the OC, right? Was it Vicky and all that? Like, she put us on the map. Thank you."

Alicia is now the face of Ziploc's new 'Lunch Confessions' campaign

While the reality franchise showcases an aspirational suburban lifestyle, Carmody noted that parenting in real life can be messy. That realism forms the foundation of her collaboration with Ziploc on their Lunch Confessions campaign.

According to press materials, the campaign invites parents to submit their own Lunch Confessions on Reddit to create a judgment-free space for sharing everyday lunch habits. Rather than setting unrealistic expectations, Ziploc encourages parents to embrace practical systems that work in their homes.

Carmody shared that she relies on Ziploc bags for everyday organization well beyond food storage. She uses them for beach trips, packing, and containing household spills.

"Every time I go to the beach, I bring a Ziploc bag because I put the wet bathing suit because we have showers where I go to the beach, and I put my wet bathing suit in a Ziploc," Carmody said. "When I pack, I keep all my essential oils in a Ziploc bag. Sometimes my gum explodes, and I put a Ziploc. I use a Ziploc for everything, literally everything. So I feel like it keeps everything neat, and I can just grab it."
