Amber Davies is set to reprise her role as Elle Woods in the West End production of Legally Blonde The Musical, months after rumours of a feud with her understudy Hannah Lowther.
The former Love Island star, 29, will return to the stage at London's Coliseum for nine weeks only, running from March 22 to May 22 next year.
She is currently touring the UK and Ireland with her production of Legally Blonde alongside Hannah. The musical was overshadowed earlier this year by claims of a lingering backstage rivalry between the pair, which both women have furiously denied.
Feud rumours and Hannah Lowther
The speculation began after Amber was forced to pull out mid-performance while suffering with a chest infection, meaning Italia Conti-trained Hannah had to step in as Elle Woods. The pair put the rumours to bed again on Tuesday, when Hannah publicly congratulated Amber on the news of her Coliseum return.
A post revealed on social media read: "LONDON, how's this for a personal essay?! #LegallyBlondeTheMusical is taking over @LondonColiseum for 9 WEEKS ONLY from March 2027, starring Amber Davies as Elle Woods!"
Hannah reshared the post and wrote in the caption: "Iconic @amb_d!!!" before adding in the comments: "THERE SHE IS."
In the accompanying promotional video, Amber got straight back into character with her blonde wig, a tweed pink suit and matching Louis Vuitton luggage.
What Amber and Hannah said
Shutting down the feud rumours when they first surfaced earlier this year, Amber wrote: "Just to clear things up, I'm not leaving Legally, I'm not taking a break & there is no feud."
"I'm simply just finishing off a set of antibiotics for a chest infection that's been lingering for over a month," she continued. "What we love and choose to do as a career is so unbelievably taxing on the body, and we are very much not invincible. Sickness happens, we are human. And disappointed to see a narrative ran on women who work their ASSES OFF."
She added: "I will be back on stage as soon as I possibly can. I love my @legallyblondeshow company so much and very grateful to have such a supportive team especially @hannahlowther."
Hannah separately said: "One day I hope that we will be able to live in a world where women aren't pit against each other and compared ALL the time." She continued: "A world where we can all succeed, thrive or just simply exist without people trying to tear us down."
Following her post, Amber quickly showed her support for her understudy, commenting: "We've got each other always," alongside a heart emoji.
Previous tour troubles
The previous UK tour of the show was also hit with criticism from fans, after several members of the cast fell ill during its final weeks. During a show in Milton Keynes, the production was turned into a "concert" rendition of Legally Blonde, with footage on TikTok showing the cast seated together on stage delivering the lines and musical numbers from a script. The scaled-back performance angered many fans who had bought tickets for the full show.
Theatregoer thrown out
Over the summer, Amber revealed she had a theatregoer removed from a performance after catching them filming. Video, flash photography and audio are strictly prohibited during performances to protect copyright, ensure compliance with performers' unions and preserve the live experience.
Speaking on her Instagram Stories during the interval, Amber said: "This is your daily reminder not to film at the theatre. Unfortunately tonight at the Bord Gais we've got a beautiful audience, but there's just one woman in the front row filming the entirety of Act One has had us all distracted."
She continued: "It ruined the morale of our wonderful eighth show on a Saturday night from selfish actions." Revealing she had reported the theatregoer to staff, Amber added: "Hopefully she's not back for Act Two, I've asked, can she go so we can just enjoy ourselves."
"But there has been a couple of people filming in Ireland this week and I'm the type of person, I will count how many seats away you are from what door and you will be told and asked to leave," she said. "So yeah guys, don't film. Let's just enjoy the two and a half hours together, we don't need to film everything. Okay, right I'm gonna go and do Act Two."
