Amelia Bono Wears Zara's Printed Scarf as Sarong

Amelia Bono styled a 19.95-euro Zara printed scarf as a poolside sarong over her swimsuit, a piece she can also wear with jeans in autumn.

Amelia Bono Wears Zara's Printed Scarf as Sarong

Amelia Bono, the Spanish businesswoman and social media personality, marked the start of August by pairing a blue swimsuit with a printed scarf from Zara, which she tied around her waist as a sarong for a day by the pool.

Bono shared the look on Instagram, writing that she was sharing her first day of August and wishing her followers a happy Sunday with their families. The relaxed outfit combined a flattering halter-neck blue swimsuit with the Zara scarf knotted at the waist, an accessory that completed the poolside look while hinting at plenty of uses once the holidays are over.

The Zara scarf behind the look

The piece Bono chose is priced at 19.95 euros. It is a large printed scarf made from 100 percent cotton, measuring 100 by 200 centimetres, with a multicoloured design featuring flowers, leaves, coral and a zebra as the standout motif.

Its generous size means the scarf can be styled in several ways. During summer it works as a sarong for the beach or the pool, but it can also be draped over the shoulders on cooler evenings, worn as a top, or tied around a handbag for a pop of colour. That versatility is what makes the accessory one of the smartest buys of the season.

Styling the scarf with jeans in September

Although Bono wore the scarf knotted over her swimsuit, the same piece lends itself easily to different outfits once summer ends. Paired with straight-leg jeans and a white T-shirt, it can be worn draped over the shoulders, tied around the neck, or knotted as a belt. It could also serve as the finishing touch to a linen blazer or a denim shirt, adding a splash of colour to an otherwise plain outfit.

That double life is what makes the piece stand out. Rather than being limited to poolside days, it can also find a place in an autumn wardrobe once temperatures start to drop.

Printed scarves as a key season accessory

Printed scarves are having a moment, and retailers such as Zara, the Spanish fast-fashion chain, have turned them into one of the season's essential accessories. They are lightweight, easy to pack into a suitcase, and offer far more styling options than they might suggest at first glance.

Bono's look is another example of how the most versatile pieces tend to be the smartest purchases. She wore the scarf as a sarong with a blue swimsuit for a day at the pool, but the same accessory can also be worn in the coming weeks with jeans, a plain T-shirt and ballet flats or trainers, a simple way to stretch the feel of summer for a purchase of under 20 euros.
