Amy Schumer showed off her 50lb weight loss in a skimpy bikini while enjoying a day out on the water, sharing a series of photos on Instagram from the excursion.
The 45-year-old actress and comedian wore a colorful bikini top with off-white bottoms, her blonde hair pulled back in a ponytail and a pair of shades completing the look. She later layered the bikini with a patterned kimono before switching into a one-piece blue swimsuit and eventually a black scuba suit to dive into the water. She was joined by friends during the outing.
“I never knew there would be days like this. No filter as per ushe,” Schumer wrote in the caption.
A New Passion for Scuba Diving
The boat trip followed a week of training Schumer had documented on Instagram as she prepared for the scuba diving venture. She called the experience a “dream come true” and said she feels “braver and more grounded than ever.”
“Good reminder to stay calm and just breathe. And to be present and take it all in. We are all more capable than we think,” she wrote.
Schumer added that she plans to continue scuba diving and hoped to take her son along one day. “Can’t wait to go with my little boy someday! So cool to show him what his mom can do with some hard work and practice,” she said.
Mounjaro After a Bad Ozempic Experience
Schumer has been open about her use of the weight loss drug Mounjaro after describing Ozempic as a “horrible experience.” During a 2025 appearance on Howard Stern’s SiriusXM show, she explained that a gene called GDF15 makes her extremely prone to nausea, the same gene she said caused severe sickness during her pregnancy.
She said Ozempic left her bedridden, vomiting, and without energy. “I lost 30 pounds so quick. I looked great, but I couldn’t lift my head off the pillow. So what’s the point?” she said. She added that switching to Mounjaro was “great” by comparison.
In December, Schumer clarified on her Instagram stories that she had lost 50 pounds total, not 30 as previously reported. She said the weight loss was motivated by health rather than appearance. “Not to look hot which does feel fun and temporary,” she wrote, adding that she lost the weight to “survive.”
Health Battles and Personal Changes
Schumer revealed she had been living with a disease that caused extreme facial puffiness, noting it can be fatal. She said the internet noticed it and the disease has since cleared. In 2024, she had disclosed a diagnosis of Cushing syndrome, a rare disorder caused by prolonged excess of the hormone cortisol.
Back in 2022, she also revealed she had liposuction following surgery for endometriosis, during which her appendix and uterus were removed.
On the personal front, Schumer announced in December that she had separated from husband Chris Fischer after seven years of marriage, describing the split as amicable. The pair married in February 2018 in Malibu and have a son, Gene, who turned seven in May.
Last month, Schumer posted another bikini photo on Instagram, pointing to her C-section scar and writing, “C-section peaking out saying yeah I’m a warrior.”
