Anna Peresild Won’t Train With Mom — Here’s Why

Anna Peresild, 17, has explained why she chose not to study acting under her mother, actress Yulia Peresild, saying that mixing family life with professional training would be too difficult.

Instead, she has enrolled at the Moscow School of Cinema to study under actress and teacher Darya Moroz.

Speaking to News.ru, Anna said she was happy to be surrounded by people who know cinema well and that she can consult them without limits. She compared learning from a parent to doing homework with your mother without laughing or messing around, calling it hard to combine work, study, and family relationships.

She added that her parents, Yulia Peresild and film director Alexei Uchitel, remain her main advisers and continue to support her career choices.

Anna also addressed accusations that she gained her place at the school through connections. The private institution charges between 850,000 and 935,000 rubles per year for its film and television acting program.
