Adult content creator Annie Knight has hit back after a guest made a joke about her career during her $180,000 outdoor wedding to Henry Brayshaw.
The 29-year-old married her long-time partner last Thursday in an intimate ceremony on the Gold Coast, surrounded by close friends and family. However, the celebrations sparked attention online after a guest delivered a speech referencing the millions of dollars she has earned from her work.
Speaking to attendees during the reception, one of the emcees cheekily joked, "Thanks to the 30,000 sad, lonely men that paid for all this."
Knight told the Daily Mail that reports detailing the speech had taken the moment out of context, emphasizing that the comment was not meant to be malicious.
Emcee speech joke taken out of context
"The person who said that was one of the emcees, a good friend of ours," Knight explained. "He is a funny guy and when he sent us his initial speech, we were like, 'You can't say any of that!'"
She added that the speaker became carried away during the reception. "But I guess on the day he got a little bit carried away and ended up saying that one joke that didn't land," she said. "However, the day was fantastic and it wasn't going to ruin it. It was upsetting the speech was leaked and the media ran with it."

Knight stressed that she and her new husband hold no ill will towards their friend following the public reaction.
"At the end of the day, we love the person who made that comment," she said. "He made a mistake, he regrets it, he is very apologetic. Henry and I are very forgiving and understanding people."

Estrangement with father-in-law James Brayshaw
Alongside the speech controversy, Knight spoke about the absence of Henry Brayshaw's father, James Brayshaw, from the nuptials. She expressed her "immense sadness" over certain family members failing to attend the ceremony.
Knight insisted that the ongoing estrangement between her husband and his father began long before she entered his life and had nothing to do with her career as an adult content creator.

"Henry hasn't had a relationship with his dad for over three years, long before we were together," Knight said. "Their estrangement has nothing to do with me. When we started dating, he already didn't have a relationship with his dad."
She rejected speculation surrounding the situation: "That is a personal family matter, it has nothing to do with me. People assume that he has decided not to be a part of Henry's life because of me, and that is just not true!"
"So, do I wish that Henry's dad had been there? Yeah! In another world, for Henry's sake, absolutely. But given where Henry's relationship is now, I think it wouldn't have been the right time," she added.

Knight noted that Brayshaw's mother Sarah and his two brothers attended the wedding to offer their complete support.
"At the end of the day, Henry's mum Sarah and his two brothers were there, and that just meant the world to us," Knight said. "That is all we care about, Sarah's 12-minute long speech about how much she loves Henry and me! That's all that matters to us, that they came and gave it 100 per cent and had nothing but love and support for us."
She expressed hope that the father and son might repair their relationship in the future. "There is a chance for Henry and his dad to reconnect one day. But right now, Henry and I are in this phase where the people in our lives are immensely sacred to us and we would do anything for them," she said. "You don't know what the future holds, but of course we are both hoping they reconnect and I can have a relationship with James as well."
Scenic Gold Coast ceremony and luxury gown
The outdoor nuptials took place at The Valley Estate, a scenic nature retreat in the Currumbin Valley on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia.
Knight wore a simple, demure wedding gown that featured a structured bodice and a flared skirt. She added a flowing veil pinned into her updo that trailed behind her, along with luxury heels from British designer Jimmy Choo.
The bride was beaming as she met Brayshaw at the altar. The groom, dressed in a classic black tuxedo, swiped tears from his eyes as he recited his vows. He later presented Knight with a wedding ring from French luxury jewelry house Cartier.

The couple originally became engaged in March 2025, when Brayshaw proposed on one knee during a holiday in Los Angeles, California.
Following their Gold Coast wedding, the newlyweds will embark on a short honeymoon.
