Filming has completed on the musical comedy film Arthur Pirozhkov. The Beginning, starring Alexander Revva. Revva, known for his roles in Dad Can, Grandma of Easy Virtue, and End of Glory, plays the lead character.
The plot follows the son of a hereditary baker who dreams of becoming a singer. After cynical producer Zolotarev discovers Pirozhkov and instantly turns him into a pop star, the protagonist must decide whether to pay for his success with his family, love, or identity.
Production details and cast
Alexey Stepanov, who previously directed Octopus, directed the film alongside his long-time cinematographer Dmitry Borzykin, who made his directorial debut. Stepanov said the project was a creative challenge, adding that the shoot was filled with kindness and love with a team of top industry professionals.
The movie also stars Marina Vasilyeva from Loveless, Alexey Maklakov from Major Grom: The Game, Nikolai Dobrynin from Youth. New Shift, and Igor Vernik from Golden Bottom. Revva said he had long dreamed of creating a story about his alter ego and agreed to the project when Stepanov suggested it. He described the script as a story about love, creative struggles, and confidence in success regardless of obstacles.
The premiere date for the film has not yet been announced.
